Fajita Sliders

Hosting a football party or tailgating this weekend?  Do I have the recipe for you?  My Fajita Sliders recipe will take your get together to the next level.  These sliders are the ultimate finger food.  Who knew you could pack this much flavor in such a small package! Expecting a big crowd?  I suggest you double the recipe! Of course if you want to go all out, make a batch of my Honey Chipotle Wings with Gorgonzola Dipping Sauce.  Personally, I think these are two must have recipes on your weekend menu!  Try one or both of them out! I think you will agree.

Recipe type: Main
Cuisine: Southern
Serves: 4-6
Ingredients
  • ½ Pound Sirloin Rump Roast, very thinly sliced
  • 1½ Teaspoons Cumin
  • ¾ Teaspoon Chipotle Pepper
  • 1 Teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Maras Pepper (this is a Turkish pepper) or Crushed Red Pepper
  • 4 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 Large Yellow Onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz Pepper Jack Cheese, cut into tiny cubes or shredded
  • 1 Package of Brown and Serve Rolls
  • 2 Tablespoons Melted Butter
Instructions
  1. Mix the Cumin, Chipotle Pepper, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Salt, and Maras Pepper in a small bowl. Next, massage the spices into the thinly sliced meat. Set aside.
  2. Heat Olive Oil over medium high heat.
  3. Add in the sliced onions and bell pepper.
  4. Slice the brown and serve rolls in half on the horizontal.
  5. Place the bottom halves of the rolls into a 9 X 13 pan.
  6. Cut the cheese into tiny cubes or shred it and set aside.
  7. Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees.
  8. Continue sauteing the onions and peppers. Turn the heat to high and add in the thinly sliced meat. Cook 5-7 minutes until browned.
  9. Evenly distribute the meat, onions, and peppers over the rolls in the pan.
  10. Top with the cheese. Put the top of the rolls back on top.
  11. Brush with the melted butter.
  12. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
  13. Remove from oven and serve warm.
Notes
Make sure and take the meat out of the fridge so it is not too cold when you cook it or it will be tough.
