My sister Kim and I found a fantastic restaurant while in Atlanta yesterday that we both highly recommend. We enjoyed a wonderful evening at Persepolis Cuisine. We actually found it by accident and it was great. If you go to Atlanta, it is worth the trip. When we first found it, we weren’t sure from the outside looks if it would be good. Not because it looked bad it was just very plain. We decided to give it a try because we had not eaten all day and were starving. Inside was a different story. There was a very cozy atmosphere complete with a nice fire in the fireplace. The host was very friendly and seated us and gave us menus which looked pretty good. Until this point, I was still wondering “Is this going to be good?” and then the magic happened and I knew we were in the right place. One of the staff brought us hot fresh bread and a plate of white cheese, walnuts, radishes, onion and fresh herbs and I knew we were in the right spot. It was almost like being in Turkey at a meat restaurant. We ordered an appetizer called Kashk-o-bodenjoon, which was an eggplant dip. For our main course, Kim ordered the Lamb Kabob and I ordered the Lamb Shank. They were both delicious but we both thought next time we would ask if we could get my rice with the Lamb kabob she had ordered. The Lamb kabob was seasoned perfectly. My rice was seasoned with dill and had fava beans in it. It was an enjoyable meal and all the people working there were super nice. While I am not a buffet person, I saw that they have a buffet and I would like to go back for that just to try different dishes at one time. We plan to go back for the buffet as well as returning on a night when we are not in a hurry and really enjoying the evening there. And for those of you who like belly dancers, they have them on Friday and Saturday nights. You can check out their website here: http://www.persepoliscuisine.com/
