Chocolate Cherry Delight à la mode
Ingredients
  • ½ Cup Butter, melted
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • ½ Cup Hershey's Cocoa Powder
  • 1½ Cups All Purpose Flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • ½ Cup Dried Cherries
  • ½ Cup Chopped Pecans, optional
  • ½ Cup Boiling Water
  • Additional Tablespoon or so of Butter to grease pan or individual baking dishes
  • Your favorite Ice Cream for serving
Instructions
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Melt butter and let cool.
  3. Add in the sugar and the eggs and beat with a wire whisk (or electric if you prefer) until well blended.
  4. Stir in the Cocoa, flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder.
  5. Stir in the Cherries and then quickly whisk in the boiling water.
  6. Pour into a 9X13 baking pan or individual baking dishes that have been greased with butter.
  7. If using pecans, sprinkle on top of the batter.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until no longer gooey inside.
  9. Top with ice cream while still warm.
